Lancaster posts three wins in boys basketball

Lancaster opened a four-game week with an 88-72 win over Mathews on January 13 and ended it with a 13-point loss to Legacy Christian.

In between, the Red Devils picked up a pair of Northern Neck District wins to open league play at 2-0 in varsity boys basketball.

Lancaster is now 6-5 overall.

Jamarcus Russell posted a career high 30 points to lead Lancaster over the Blue Devils. The Red Devils, with 18 points from Russell, took a 47-24 lead at the half. Lancaster blew open a five-point first-quarter lead with a 24-6 second-quarter run.

Russell led four double digit scorers….
