Lancaster prepares for new high school opening

WEEMS—Lancaster school superintendent Jessica Davis on Monday, April 13, reported employees are “busy behind the scenes preparing for the opening of the new school.”

They have been working on scheduling, transitions through the building, lunch schedules and transportation matters, said Davis. “I’m certain that we will be well prepared, but we will also learn some things as we open up and have to shift a little bit to get it perfect.”

A ribbon cutting for the high school is scheduled at 5 p.m. June 29. “We won’t go in the school that day, but we hope that a lot of people from the community can come out and be a part of that,” she said.

A community open house is slated for 9 a.m. July 25, and the building will be open for tours. “You can get in there, but it’s….
