LANCASTER—Following a public hearing without dissent, the board of supervisors is poised to approve a proposed $44,940,867 budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
At the May 25 meeting, the board will adopt the proposed budget along with tax rates, which remain unchanged.
County administrator Don Gill on Thursday, April 27, said the budget includes four new full-time county positions: recreation coordinator, assistant IT director, building inspector and maintenance assistant. A new part-time prosecutor position was added in the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office but will not impact the budget due to cost savings.
Also included in the budget are raises for the supervisors. Gill suggested, and the board agreed, to raise the pay for planning commission, board of zoning appeals and wetland board….
