After a successful region playoff run and one of the best seasons in recent years in 2023, the Lancaster High School varsity football team struggled to find its rhythm last year, going 2-8 overall and winless in the Northern Neck District to miss a postseason berth.
Last year was a rebuilding year with lots of first timers in skill positions. This year, those players are upperclassmen and ready to make their mark.
“The senior class is determined to move this program in the right direction,” said Landon Gouveia, who enters his third year as head coach. “We have a bunch of guys who are not selfish and want to work toward creating their own legacy here.”
