Lancaster Sheriff donates unused equipment to first responders in Israel

LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) recently answered the Virginia Attorney General’s call to donate items to aid first responders in Israel. 

In October, Attorney General Jason Miyares sent out a request for law enforcement agencies to contribute outdated or unused tactical equipment and gear for distribution to civilians and first responders near Gaza. 

According to reports from the Attorney General’s office, around 12,000 pounds of tactical vests, helmets and other gear is on the ground in Israel and in the hands of civilian first responders and mothers guarding village perimeters due to men being called to war. 

LCSO donated riot suits, riot shields, gas masks, riot helmet shields and expired Kevlar bulletproof vests, said Sheriff Patrick McCranie.
