Lancaster to collaborate with VMDO Architects on new school complex

KILMARNOCK—A very brief Lancaster school board meeting Monday, July 11, included a unanimous, 5-0, vote selecting VMDO Architects of Charlottesville to begin negotiations on the design of a proposed new middle/high school complex on Irvington Road at Hills Quarter.

The board emerged from a closed session and Faith Kemp made a motion to approve VMDO. Cindy Clarke made the second with Clarke, Kemp, Margaret Socey, Kenya Moody and Joan Gravatt voting in favor.

In March, the board authorized a request for proposals to begin the process of creating the new school complex….
