What a better moment in the life of a 12-year-old boy than to play the game he loves in the birthplace of baseball?
Three Lancaster County youth recently lived out their dreams in Cooperstown, N.Y., participating in the Cooperstown Dreams Park 12U Tournament.
One of the largest tournaments for youth baseball, 86 teams competed June 13-19. Lancaster students Tucker Braly, Nate George and Lane Reynolds are members of the Richmond Braves, reported Holly Braly.
Coached by Ryan Hinton, a Lancaster native and resident of Glen Allen, and Scotty George, Lancaster High School baseball coach, the team is comprised of 12 youth from the greater Richmond area.
Each team is responsible for bringing an umpire to the tournament. CD Hathaway of Kilmarnock represented the Richmond Braves and umpired throughout the week.
