Late night fire contained by multiple departments

WEEMS—Responders from six volunteer fire departments were called to the scene of a debris fire at Ransone’s Nursery & Maintenance LLC near Kilmarnock on Tuesday, August 26.

According to Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department (KVFD) Chief Brian Keyser, KVFD was dispatched to the scene at 10:58 p.m. after Lancaster County Sheriff’s officers responded to a call of smoke on White Pine Drive.

“We found two big massive piles of logs that had caught fire,” said Keyser. The cause of the fire is undetermined, he added. There was no damage to structures on….
