The Lancaster Community Library (LCL) is calling all comic book lovers, video gamers, movie buffs and sitcom fans to its LCL Comicon. The event will be held from noon-4 p.m. Sunday, October 8, at the LCL, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock. Admission is free.
“While it’s called a Comicon, it’s not just about comic books,” said Elizabeth Shelton, library youth services assistant. “We will have all types of fandoms, so no matter what you’re interested in, we’ll have something for you.”
Shelton and LCL teen center coordinator Kate McCarthy are the driving forces behind the event.
“We had gone to GalaxyCon in Richmond as a work group,” said Shelton. “And we loved the experience and community and it inspired us to bring that to our community.
“I thought that would be something our families and children would enjoy. Something that they could have in their own backyard….
