Third grade students at Lancaster Elementary recently visited The Mariner’s Museum in Newport News.
There, students had an immersive experience into the world of maritime history and exploration, reported Holly W. Braly. Students participated in a variety of activities such as knot-tying, exploring trade routes of ancient civilizations and building a viaduct to learn how civilizations moved goods from the ships in port to the towns.
Funding for the field trip was provided by the Lancaster County Virginia Education Foundation.
