Sharon Clarke recently received a mini-grant from the Lancaster County Virginia Education Foundation (LCVEF) to purchase a trampoline to enhance the learning experience of pre-K students at the Early Childhood Education Center in Kilmarnock.
“We strive to create the most productive learning environment while understanding that the developing mind of this age group still needs thoughtful, understanding and creative ways to provide as many outlets as they may need to be successful,” said Clarke.
Representatives from LCVEF toured Clarke’s classroom to gain an understanding of how the equipment would be used, reported Holly W. Braly.
Through the mini-grant program, LCVEF helps fund innovative and creative projects at Lancaster County Public Schools, said Braly. The grants are awarded in October and January each year.
