
DUTTON—Lester E. Potter, 71, passed away on March 20, 2018, at his home with his wife, Alisa, by his side.
Lester came to the Middle Peninsula to start a business after many years of living in the Tidewater area. He was the president and founder of Custom Yacht Service Inc. in Irvington.
He enjoyed bluegrass music immensely thereby playing in several bands throughout the years such as East Virginia, Storm Warning and Code Blue. During his retirement, he enjoyed restoring his 1960s Sport Fury and Impala.
His parents, Cameron and Lucy Potter; as well as his infant son, Brian Earl Potter, preceded him in death.
Lester is survived by his wife of 27 years, Alisa Potter; brother, Cameron Potter and wife, Barbara; mother-in-law Toni Hux; brother-in-law Ray Hux Jr.; numerous friends; other relatives; and his beloved pets, Terra, Buffy and Moo Moo.
A service of remembrance will be conducted by the Rev. Art Wolz at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Hogg Funeral Home, 3098 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes. The family will receive friends before the service from 1 to 2p.m. at the funeral home.
