LHS celebrates Dig Pink with 3-2 win

by Lisa Hinton-Valdrighi

The Lancaster High School gymnasium was all pinked out—including the Devil eyes on the electronic scorer’s table—Thursday, October 1, as players, students, fans and community members gathered for breast cancer awareness and some competitive volleyball.

The Lady Devils hosted its annual Dig Pink fundraiser to benefit the Side-Out Foundation with three matches. Both the Lancaster Elementary School team and junior varsity teams picked up easy, 2-0, wins. The LHS varsity battled to a 3-2 win over Rappahannock.

The event also included raffle prizes, a bake sale, memory/honor walk and a fun ESPN High School GameDay experience courtesy of LHS guidance counselor and announcer Josh Suszek, the LHS golf team and an enthusiastic student section.
