Lancaster High School Graduation 2025

This year’s Senior Seal, created by seniors Jayla Beale and Trinity James focused on the theme of entering a new chapter in life.
On behalf of the Class of 2025, class president Lily Hathaway thanked the “teachers, coaches and counselors and families who walked this journey with us.” Hathaway, daughter of John and Andrea Hathaway, will be attending Liberty University studying pediatric occupational therapy in the fall.
Just .0215 of a point separated the top two seniors this year. Salutatorian Jelsy Ramirez graduated with a GPA of 4.3115. She told the senior class she was “proud of every single one of us who made it this far. We’ve worked hard, faced challenges and have grown so much.” She will study finance at the College of William and Mary.
A group of hardworking seniors also received associate degrees from Rappahannock
Community College as part of the Early College Academy. From left are Joshua
Woolard, Anna Ramos, Ashton Molineaux, Lucy McDaniels, Grace Lawrence, Elizabeth
Hazell and Lily Hathaway.
In addition to celebrating their accomplishments,
commencement speaker Julien Patterson had a few words of advice for the graduates “as they take their first few steps on the path to following their dreams.” He told them that “no one owes you anything. Everything that you get you will have to earn” and reminded them to “never allow your circumstances to define who you are.”
The Lancaster High School Class of 2025 gathered in the gymnasium on Friday, May 16, to say goodbye to the halls of LHS and enter the next chapter of their lives as high school graduates. Class valedictorian Josh Woolard, shown receiving his diploma from principal Mike Myers, urged his classmates, to “close this chapter and look ahead to what comes next, whether it’s college, a career, the military or something else entirely, remember this: time doesn’t quit. But that’s not something to fear, it’s something to use. Invest your time in things that matter.” (More photos by Jackie Nunnery from the Lancaster High School Commencement are included in the print and e-Edition of the Record this week)
