Lancaster High School coach Tom Kleinfelter said he has “high expectations” for his young junior varsity baseball team.
He suits up two sophomores, seven ninth graders and five eighth graders. The team lost two games in last weekend’s Wells Fargo Advisors Invitational at Dream Fields, including a close, 3-1, contest to Rappahannock. King William beat the Red Devils, 15-6.
Back to add experience on the young squad are seven returners, including sophomores Pierson Long and Detavin Francis. Long is part of a pitching staff of five.
