Lancaster High School runners Hailey Smith and Marcus Keeve brought home silver medals from the 10th Atlantic Coast Indoor Invitational in Hampton on January 19.
Smith and Keeve were the runners-up in the girls and boys 500-meter races.
Smith’s second-place finish of 1:24.75 in the 500 also earned her a state qualifying spot. The freshman runner has now pre-qualified in four events for the Class 1/2 meet February 20 in Roanoke.
Keeve’s time of 1:10.17 was a personal best and new LHS school record.
Lancaster’s Chris Dameron also met the state meet qualifications in the 300 meter with a personal best time of 37.92 for a new school record.
De’Avion Harding and Zach Kane both set personal best times in the 1600-meter run with Harding setting a new school record with a time of 4:55.21. Kane ran the mile in 5:06.85 for his best time in the event.
Lancaster’s indoor track team will compete in its final regular season meet of the season February 1-2 at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton.
