‘Living History’ encampment to offer a glimpse of local history at the Heathsville Farmers Market

The Heathsville Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. September 16 at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern (RH/HT), 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.

Members from historical groups will set up a “Living History” encampment on the grounds. A display of historical flags also will be on view.

See folks in costume and learn about local history, said RH/HT Foundation executive director Corinne Becker. Groups representing the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, and Black History have been invited. Inside the Tavern Meeting Building, the “schoolmaster” will offer 18th Century School for children and adults.

The Northumberland Public Library “Mobile-Library” will be on-site and open for tours.

The Heritage Arts Center will be open. Shoppers will find artists working….
