CALLAO—Lois Calbert Tate Nash, 95, of Callao reached her heavenly home on March 6, 2025.
Lois was born in Colonial Beach to the late Louis Calvin Tate Sr. and the late Maude Ferrell Miller Tate.
She was the widow of Morris Coleman “Buck” Nash, a retired telephone operator for GTE and a devoted and active member of Coan Baptist Church in Heathsville.
Lois was an enthusiastic mother and a devoted and doting grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved her family more than anything and was the most enthusiastic cheerleader for all of us. She made every holiday special, as getting together for holidays was one of her favorite things and as her family grew larger and larger she loved it even more. Lois rooted hard for her favorite baseball and softball players, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish Lois’s memory are her daughters, Wanda Nash Hassler (Dwight) of Reedville and Gail Nash Ford (Morgan) of Lottsburg; her grandchildren, Scott Harper (Niki), Ryan Harper (April), Randy Withers (Tina), Peyton Ford and Kristie Jenkins (Richie); her great-grandchildren, Skylar, Paisley, Anna and Tyler Harper, Briana Turner (David) and Emily, McKenzie and Jacob Withers; and her great-great-grandchildren, Willow, Lily and Violet Dasch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Maude; and her husband, Buck, of almost 70 years.
A funeral was held to celebrate Lois’s 95 years of life and her arrival into heaven at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9. The Reverend Lee Farmer and the Reverend Barbara Filling officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Following the service Lois was laid to rest beside her beloved husband Morris in the Coan Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you honor Lois’s brave battle with Alzheimer’s by making a donation in her loving memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation at www.alz.org.
