Louis E. Rich

WHITE STONE—Louis Edward Rich, 60, of White Stone died May 6 at Riverside Regional Memorial Hospital in Newport News.

He was born February 5, 1960, to Mary Lou Garner and the late Simon Louis Edward Rich. He grew up in Westmoreland County and attended Washington and Lee High School.

Louis was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Colonial Beach and later Sharon Baptist Church in Weems.

He worked at Pride of Virginia Seafood Company, Mundy Point; The Coca-Cola Company, Montross; the Morgan Town Power and Coal Plant, Maryland; and most recently in the landscaping business.

He was preceded in death by his father, Simon Louis Edward Rich; and his stepfather, Carl Garner.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Garner; sisters, Mary Doris Boyd of King George, Inez Brown of Fredericksburg, Lucille Rich of Tappahannock, Thelma Rich of Montross and Barbara Cox of Warsaw; brothers, William Rich of Hustle and Herman Rich of Weems; children, Jarvis, Jamal, Jeremy and Ashley; eight grandchildren, Jaden, Jarvion, Jouriell, Ja’yani, Michael Jr., Jarvir and A’yanna; fiancee, Tammy Waddy; and stepchildren Carolyn Newton Carter of Kilmarnock and Ryan Newton of North Carolina.

A graveside service was held at noon Thursday, May 14, at Sharon Baptist Church, Weems, followed by interment.
