LPS administration looks forward to new school year

Principal Mike Daddario is starting his fifth year at Lancaster Primary School and is looking to build on a solid foundation of past success.

“Every child builds a literacy foundation that leads to future success,” he said. That literacy foundation along with the collection and analysis of student assessment data, has made the difference. “Last year, we knew these kids” and what they were learning—the data pointed to when remediation was necessary and data from testing afterward showed there was improvement.

Daddario, along with new assistant principal, Regina Howard, are looking to create an “energetic and inspiring educational environment” where “students are challenged to reach their fullest potential,” said Daddario. They also will “continue to focus on student data and using it to drive what we do in the classrooms.”

In addition to a new assistant principal, who happens to be a Lancaster High School graduate, there are a number of other new staff and teachers, including kindergarten teacher and LHS grad Le’Aria Kelly; second grade teacher Kelsey Mays; special education teacher and LHS grad Gabriel Smith; and instructional assistants Katherine Veney, Samantha Randall and Bria Tate.
