BURGESS—Madeline “Nana” Mahoney Sr., 94, of Burgess went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 21, 2022.
She was famously known as “The Lady with the Christmas Lights.” Every year she displayed 1000s of lights on her house, bushes and every tree for all to see. She enjoyed having her garden and canning her fruits and vegetables. She loved animals and had a dog grooming business for years. Her favorite pastime was watching wrestling on TV.
She is survived by five children, Betty Francy, Mary “Pat” Shifflett, James “Jimmy” Davis, Irene Fields and Madeline “Buttons” Mahoney Jr.; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Ed Allison.
She was preceded in death by a son, William “Billy” Davis.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 25, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a Colon Cancer Charity.
