Many local restaurants remain open on a limited basis

Food service industry entrepreneurs and workers across the Commonwealth are adapting their business models to the COVID-19 pandemic after Gov. Ralph Northam ordered all restaurants, coffee shops and bars to close their dining halls and lounges in an effort to limit the spread of the virus.

The order directed food service businesses to offer only take-out, curbside pickup, or delivery options until at least April 15. Some local eateries have temporarily closed, while others are still open for business and trying to make ends meet in the midst of a national crisis.
