IRVINGTON—Marilyn Carter Riggs, passed away on June 18, 2026, at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington, at the age of 88.
She is survived by her daughters, Missi Estelle Baker and fiancé Alfred Crockett and her son Rian C. Riggs of Heathsville, and Sandra Lee Gravatt and partner Tiger Lee of White Stone and her sons Lynwood Bailey Gravatt and wife Dana, and Lee Ellis Gravatt and wife Candice; and three great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Riggs; her parents, Lynwood M. Carter and Mary R. Carter; and grandparents, William Brown Carter and Ethel (Etta) Hall Carter, and Francis Oppe Robertson and Effie Jett Bryant.
There will be a Celebration of Life from 3-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington.
In lieu of flowers the family recommends a donation to the charity of your choice.
Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
