REEDVILLE—Martha Starnes Henry of Reedville died peacefully on October 1, 2017, after a short illness.
She was the daughter of the late Ruth Hyder and Joseph Tibertus Starnes of Hickory, N.C.
Having graduated from WCUNC (now UNCG) in Greensboro, N.C, she taught at high schools in Charlotte, N.C., and Richmond.
She is survived by her husband, John Aubrey Henry; two sons, John Aubrey Jr. of Haw River, N.C., and Joseph Starnes of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren; a niece and four nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 5, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 3020 Fleeton Road, Reedville. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.
