WHITE STONE—Marvin H. Clingan, 89, of White Stone passed away February 1, 2020. He was the owner of Marvin’s Repair Shop in Kilmarnock and a member of Morattico Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Clingan of Lively, Gary Clingan of Kilmarnock and Todd Clingan of Weems; stepson, James Lewis of North Carolina; sisters, Jeanette Dunaway of Chesapeake and Mildred Shelton of Kilmarnock; and the mother of his children, Catherine Clingan of Kilmarnock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Harrison Clingan and Mary Lottie Anthony Clingan; daughter, Lillian VanDenburgh; sisters, Nellie Connors and Bessie Greenwood; and brothers, Grover Clingan, George Clingan and Elton Clingan.
Marvin was a former member of the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Rescue Squad. He also was a waterman, a sawmill owner, worked for Eubanks and Son, Farm & Home Supply in Kilmarnock, and as a farmer he raised turkeys and hogs for Esskay.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 8, at Morattico Baptist Church, Kilmarnock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2020 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
