OPHELIA—Mary Elizabeth Sneed Rountrey, 97, died September 3, 2023.
She was the widow of J. Edward Rountrey and the daughter of H. Ernest Sneed and Sue Cowan Sneed Fleming.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Sue S. Bahen, Ernest S. Sneed and Margaret S. Brownson.
She is survived by her children, Mike Rountrey, Kitty Snow, Parks Rountrey, Mary Toombs (Davis) and Edward Rountrey (Barbara); eight grandchildren, Patrick Spraker, Anne Shultz, Molly Walker (Jonathan), Emily Watkinson (David), Adam Rountrey (Melanie), Sara Berger (Malik), Michael Toombs, James Rountrey; and her 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Anne S. Lewis; and many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life (casual outdoor party-her favorite kind) will be held at noon, September 30 at her home, 8728 W. Huguenot Road, Richmond.
