FOXWELLS—Monroe Belfield, 84, of Foxwells passed away on September 5, 2019. He was born on June 30, 1935 in Senora, the son of the late Willard and Ellis Belfield.
Monroe was a U. S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred George Belfield; daughter, Tammy Belfield Ferber (Wayne); and granddaughter, Samantha Ferber Snead (Travis).
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Hilda Belfield Barnes, Estelle Belfield Harding, Vashti Belfield Courtney, Doswell Belfield Marks, Christine Belfield Naumann, W.D. Belfield and George Belfield.
Monroe was a devoted husband, dad and granddad who was loved so much by his family and all that had the pleasure of knowing him. A wonderful man, inside and out, kind, caring and loved his Lord, family and community. He will be forever missed and remembered.
Monroe was a deacon and lifelong member of Maple Grove Baptist Church, Foxwells. His favorite pastime was playing golf and spending time with his family. He and his wife Mildred enjoyed their winters in Siesta Bay Resort in Fort Myers, Fla., where they enjoyed all types of activities with the friends they made there.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 8, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment followed the service at White Stone Baptist Church Cemetery. Family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
