Morattico Waterfront Museum plans opening celebration May 3

Morattico Waterfront Museum will open for the season on May 3.

A celebration is planned from noon-4 p.m., reported president David Henley. The public is welcome, no cost of admission, to the museum at 6584 Morattico Road, Morattico.

Tour the old general store and learn how watermen tonged oysters out of the Rappahannock and how soft-shell crabs are harvested, said Henley. See where the steamboats dropped off thousands of passengers from….
