FREDERICKSBURG—Mt. Holly Road in Westmoreland County will remain closed to traffic this week at Davis Creek after heavy rain washed out a section of road over two drainage pipes.
Barricades are posted on Mt. Holly Road on both sides of Davis Creek, reported Kelly Hannon. Motorists should follow the recommended posted detour route.
Plans for an emergency repair are under way, said Hannon. Crews will install two 42-inch replacement drainage pipes and will repair the road surface over the pipes.
An average of 1,600 vehicles travel Mt. Holly Road daily, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation traffic count.
