Museum adds hours and exhibit lecture

The Mary Ball Washington Museum & Library, 8346 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster, recently announced the addition of extra hours on Saturday, December 16, and an exhibit lecture on Thursday, December 21.

“After the disruptions of the recent snow, we wanted to give the public more opportunities to enjoy our 1930s Christmas display, learn about local history and discover interesting books and gifts in our Museum Shop,” said executive director Karen Hart.

The museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday so visitors may view the exhibit “1930s Christmas: Holiday Cheer in Spite of Hard Times,” which focuses on decorations and traditions of the Depression era, especially in Lancaster County.

Admission is free for museum members and $3 for others…
