As summer turns to fall, this is the best time for sprucing up properties with native plants. No better place to get some than the annual Native Plant Sale presented by the Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society (VNPS).
This year, the chapter has a new venue, Good Luck Cellars, 1025 Goodluck Road, Kilmarnock. The sale will be held from noon-3 p.m. September 7 and 1-3 p.m. September 8.
Knowledgeable native plant experts and landscape designers will be on-site to answer questions–right plant, right place. Members of the Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Master Gardeners Shoreline Evaluation Program will be on-site to answer related questions.
The free 2022 third edition of Native Plants of the Northern Neck and other educational materials will be available, including “Deer-resistant Plants” and “Salt-tolerant Plants.”
“We are quite excited to have such a perfect venue as Good Luck Cellars be our host for our plant sale,” said Northern Neck Chapter, VNPS president Betsy Washington. “All of the plants for sale are Virginia natives with most of them native to the Coastal Plain of Virginia including the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. It is one of the very few sources of native plants in the area.”
