Firemen’s festival opens tonight
The 91st Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department Firemen’s Festival will open tonight, July 30, at the KVFD Carnival Grounds, 200 Waverly Avenue, Kilmarnock. Colton White had fun testing the new carousel with his dad, Eric White, and others during a recent work night. The new carousel, from South Carolina, includes 16 horses and four two-person seats. The old carousel was taken down after the 2024 carnival. The festival will continue nightly, except Sunday, through August 8. Hours are 7-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7-11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The carnival is an all-cash event. Photo by Lisa Hinton-Valdrighi
