Broadband. It is something that everyone agrees is critical to accessing education, employment and health care, yet it remains frustratingly out of reach for many. That could now change for some Lancaster residents as Broadband Telecom (BTS), a wireless internet service provider (WISP), is offering high speed internet to homes in many parts of the county.
BTS has working relationships with municipalities throughout the Commonwealth and has been providing wireless internet to unserved and underserved parts of Lancaster for the last year, as part of two of the county’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funded broadband projects: serving folks within a five mile radius of the tower behind the Sheriff’s Office and the wireless smart poles throughout the county.
