NHS defeats Phoebus, 1-0, in field hockey

Northumberland picked up its first varsity field hockey win of the season on a hot, humid day in Phoebus last Thursday.

We asked our players to do a lot under bad conditions,” said NHS coach Mark Fridenstine, who noted the heat index at the 4 p.m. start was nearly 100 degrees. “They responded very well and put everything they had in the game for the entire 60 minutes.”
