NHS field hockey match goes to Bruton, 4-3, in overtime

McKenna Blardee scored six minutes into sudden death to lift Bruton over Northumberland, 4-3, in a varsity field hockey match at Northumberland High School September 6.

“It was a thrilling game,” said NHS coach Mark Fridenstine. “Bruton is a very good team but we can certainly play with them. It could have gone either way as we had many opportunities at the Bruton goal to score.

“Our defense played very well, but did give up the ball twice at critical times allowing two quick Bruton goals,” he added…
