NHS rebounds following goal repairs; Indians beat Raiders, 53-46

A 20-minute equipment malfunction seemed to cool Rappahannock off and heat up the hosting Indians last Thursday.

With the Raiders making a second-half comeback, the break to fix a loose goal shifted the momentum back in the host’s favor and the Indians put the finishing touches on a 53-46 in a boys basketball game.

Both teams will advance to this week’s Region 1A tournament, scheduled to begin February 8, with fourth-seeded Charles City playing fifth-place Rappahannock. The winner would play first-place Mathews in one semifinal. Second-place West Point played third-seeded Northumberland in the other.

The regional championship will be at the site of the higher seed tomorrow, February 12. The game is not open to the public. The region champion will go…
