NHS varsity field hockey team suffers three losses

Northumberland High’s field hockey team felt the loss of 12 seniors in its first three games of the season, losing to larger divisions Bruton, New Kent and Colonial Heights.

“We do have six returning varsity players, but three of those had extensive playing time last year,”  said coach Mark Fridenstine. “So we hope to have a short rebuilding period that lasts about half our season.”
