
OTTOMAN—Norma Carole Dodson VanLandingham of Ottoman passed away November 30, 2023. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Render Lee Dodson and Avis Lewis Dodson; parents, LeRoy and Lillian Dodson; aunt, Grace Dodson; brother, Johnnie Lee Dodson; cousin Sammy George; and close family friend, Lisa Spiers.
She leaves behind many friends who loved her dearly, including her lifetime best friends Selina Lewis and Mary Ann Acors; as well as her adopted “family” Robbie, KK, Joel and Nathan Spiers.
Norma was a member of Corrottoman Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU.
Norma and her mom Lillian were very involved with supporting the Lancaster High School Red Devils Band through many bake sales, cookbook sales and other fundraisers. She loved her Red Devils Band.
People that knew Norma knew she was passionate about Nascar and football: Tony Stewart, Brett Favre and the University of Alabama. Elvis Presley and Hank Williams Jr. were always her musical idols.
Norma worked many years at Cardinal Drug Store in Kilmarnock.

A graveside service of celebration will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 9, at the Corrottoman Baptist Church Cemetery in Ottoman, with Rev. David Cromer presiding.
Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
