Northern Neck and Tidewater districts are represented on All-State Girls Volleyball team

The Virginia High School League recently released the Class 1 All-State Girls Volleyball Team and the first team included two Region A players, one each from the Northern Neck and Tidewater districts.

Rappahannock, which finished as the state runner-up after losing to Auburn, 3-0, in the championship, had Sadie Packett as a first-team selection. The senior setter, who helped lead the Raiders to a 20-11 overall record as the district and region champions, was also the Northern Neck player of the year.

The regional and Tidewater District player of the year, Karlie Morris of Middlesex, also made the first team. The Chargers were eliminated in the state semifinals by Rappahannock.

Rappahannock’s Maggie Wonderling and Middlesex’s Addy Heasley were named to the second team.

A true testament to her talent, freshman hitter/setter Alexis VerMeer of Lancaster also received second team state honors. VerMeer was the only freshman named to….
