The Northern Neck Food and Beverage Expo will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, at the Northern Neck Technical Center (NNTC), 13946 Historyland Highway, Warsaw.
The event is a business-to-business gathering to connect Northern Neck specialty food growers and producers with local grocery stores, restaurants, retailers and institutional food service providers, reported Northern Neck Planning District Commission economic development and tourism coordinator Lisa Hull.
Three workshops will be presented during the expo. Heather Wheeler from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) will present the Virginia Grown and Virginia’s Finest programs, and Kenny Payne from VDACS will talk about produce safety. Also, Jasmine Greer, Virginia Tech Extension Agent, Family and Consumer Sciences for Lancaster and Northumberland counties, will discuss food preservation.
The NNTC is partnering with Northern Neck Tourism to hold the event and is providing lunch prepared by the Culinary Arts class….
