Lancaster High’s only Group 1A/2A state golf qualifier, Sheridan Ford, finished in a tie for 31st at last week’s two-day tournament in Harrisonburg.
Ford, a senior, shot a 95 on day one and an 89 on day two for a 36-hole total 184 at Heritage Oaks Golf Course.
Ford qualified for his first state tournament two weeks ago by winning a one-hole playoff at the Region 1A tournament.
“After three years of just barely missing out, it felt really good to finally qualify. The [state] tournament was well ran and the course was in great shape after taking a beating from the weather,” said Ford. “There were really good kids there and I was glad I was able to play with them.”
