A culinary arts team from the Northern Neck Technical Center (NNTC) on April 6 placed first in the culinary category at the Virginia ProStart 2022 invitational at James Madison University.
According to NNTC assistant principal Todd Davis, this was the first year the team of Carissa Davis, Lancaster High School; Austin Jordan, Colonial Beach High School; and Makari Carter, Samuel Fayson and Bryanne Roane, all from Essex High School, placed first and qualified for the national competition.
