Lancaster ran more plays and had possession way longer than the host Indians last Friday night but Northumberland came up with the big plays to pick up its first Northern Neck District win, 51-8, over the Red Devils.
The Indians, who finished the season at 1-4 in the district and 5-5 overall, will continue into the postseason, playing top-seeded Essex at 7 p.m. tomorrow, November 15, in Tappahannock in the Region 1A playoffs. Lancaster went winless this season at 0-10 and ended the season last week in Claraville.
