HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, August 22, with the Hon. Herbert M. Hewitt presiding.
In the case of Joann H. Blackwell of Reedville, charged with fraudulent use of lottery money, a trial was set for November 21.
In the case of Bertrum A. Conaway of Heathsville, charged with two counts of probation violation on a felony offense, a show cause was issued for October 3.
In the case of Robert P. McKenney of Hague, charged with issuing two or more bad checks in 90 days over $500, a status hearing was set for September 26.
Charles L. Elmore of Richmond pleaded nolo contendere to charges of manufacturing/etc. controlled substances and failure to appear on a felony offense. The case is under advisement and will be brought up December 5.
In the case of Lakeena O. Noel of Heathsville, charged with two counts of failure to notify Social Services of change in circumstance of over $200, perjury by false welfare application and larceny of over $200 by welfare fraud, bond was denied and a trial was set for October 10.
In the case of Robert C. Lawson of Callao, probation was revoked following a probation violation on a felony offense. Lawson was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months with 4 years suspended. He faces $208 in costs.
