HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, September 24, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
Craig J. Bailey of Saluda was found guilty of driving on a suspended/revoked license and was sentenced to three years with two years suspended. Bailey was additionally found guilty of driving while under the influence with a related prior felony conviction. He was sentenced to five years with four years suspended and was placed on 12 months supervised probation. He also was found guilty of possession of Schedule I/II drugs and was sentenced to five years with five years suspended and faces $3,227.75 in costs. Three counts of probation violation on a felony offense were nolle prossed.
William K. Downing of Reedville pleaded guilty to possession of Schedule I/II drugs and was sentenced to five years with five years suspended. He faces $1,838 in costs and was placed on five years of supervised probation. Four counts of failure to appear on a felony offense and three counts of distribution/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit were nolle prossed.
