HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, June 17, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Alexis A. Carter of Heathsville, charged with 20 counts of dog fighting activity, failure to appear on a felony offense, and misdemeanor depriving an animal of food, etc., a pre-trial hearing was set for July 15 and a jury trial was set for August 29.
Robert P. McKenney of Hague was found guilty of uttering two or more bad checks valued over $500 within a 90 day period. He was sentenced to five years with four years suspended. He faces $962.30 in costs and was placed on supervised probation for one year.
In the case of Myshaun T. Porter, charged with two counts of distributing Schedule I/II drugs and probation violation on a felony offense, a status hearing was set for July 22. Porter also was charged with two counts of pretrial violation and two counts of failure to appear on a misdemeanor offense.
In the case of Levaughn L. Seldon of Heathsville, charged with two counts of probation violation on a felony offense, bond was granted and a status hearing was set for July 22.
