HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, October 21, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Keante A. Cockrell of Warsaw, charged with reckless handling of a gun causing serious bodily injury, a plea hearing was set for November 25. Cockrell also faces misdemeanor charges of hunting/trapping without a license, trespassing to hunt/fish/trap and unlawful hunting of a wild animal.
In the case of Jonathan T. Martin of Heathsville, charged with two counts of grand larceny by auto theft, grand larceny and grand larceny of more than $1000, not personal property, a trial was carried over to January 27, 2026.
Reminder, those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
