HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, August 11 with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Nicholas L. Turner of Hartfield, charged with two counts of rape by force or threat, two counts of abduction with the intent to defile, three counts of use of a firearm while committing a felony, two counts of possession of a gun as a non-violent felon, forced sodomy, extortion in writing, and receiving stolen/aiding in the concealment of a firearm, pre-trial motions were denied and a jury trial was carried over to September 10.
Turner also faces 11 misdemeanor charges of violating a protective order as well as misdemeanor obstruction/resisting arrest without force.
