Essex High’s Logan Cooke shot an 84 as the individual medalist Monday in the Northern Neck District tournament at Golden Eagle Golf Course in Irvington.
Wet fairways and greens, a morning drizzle and a steady wind meant for higher scores than usual at Lancaster’s par-72 home course.
Reed Thorne of Rappahannock also shot an 84 as the runner-up. He had a higher score on the tie-breaker hole.
Brandon Chism shot an 85 for third and led Northumberland to the district championship with a team low 350. Rappahannock was the runner-up with a 357 and was one stroke better than third-place Essex with a 358. Lancaster was fourth with a 393.
Patrick Lewis shot an 87 and Chase Fisher and Corey Palubinski both had an 89 for Northumberland…
