Northumberland plans in-person graduation ceremony, with family-only alternative

CLARAVILLE—The Northumberland High School class of 2021 will celebrate its graduation with an in-person outdoor ceremony on the school’s football field May 22.

During the Monday, April 12, school board meeting, high school principal Travis Burns said an estimated 535 individuals will be in attendance at the ceremony, including the graduating class and up to four guests per graduate as well as staff members.

Families who may not yet feel comfortable in such a large in-person gathering will have the option to celebrate at an alternative and more intimate venue, said Burns.

He also updated the board with information regarding moving forward with spring athletics. Because all spring sports compete outdoors….
